Pranic Healing - A new way of life!!

I recently did a course of pranic healing during the lowest phase of my life and I wish I knew this science earlier!! Sharing a bit of my learnings here..

Prana
For life to exist, the body must have prana, chi or life energy. The healing process can be accelerated by increasing life energy on the affected part(s) and on the entire body.
In chemistry, electrical energy is sometimes used as a catalyst to increase the rate of chemical reaction. Light can affect chemical reaction. This is the basis for photography. In electrolysis, electricity is used to catalyze or produce chemical reaction. In pranic healing, prana or life energy serves as the catalyst to accelerate the rate of biochemical reactions involved in the natural healing process of the body. When pranic energy is applied to the affected part of the body, the rate of recovery or healing increases tremendously.
What we call miraculous healing is nothing more than increasing the rate of self-recovery of the body. There is nothing supernatural or paranormal about pranic healing. It is simply based on natural laws that most people are not aware of.
Although science is not able to detect and measure life energy or prana, it does not mean that prana does not exist or does not affect the health and well being of the body. In ancient times, people were not aware of the existence of electricity, its properties and practical uses. But this does not mean tliat electricity does not exist. One's ignorance does not change reality; it simply alters the perception of reality, resulting in misperception and misconception of what is and what is not, what can be done and what cannot be done.

What are Chakras? What are their functions?

Chakras or whirling energy centers are very important part of the energy body. Just as the visible physical body has vital and minor organs, the energy body has major, minor and mini chakras. Major Chakras are energy centers which in general are about three to four inches in diameter. They control and energize the major and vital organs of the visible physical body. They are just like power stations that supply life energy or prana to different organs. When the power stations malfunction, the corresponding vital organs become sick or deseased because they do not have enough life energy to operate properly!
The chakras have several important functions:

1. They absorb, digest and distribute prana to the different parts of the body.

2. The Chakras control and energize, and are responsible for the proper functioning of the whole physical body and its different parts and organs. The endocrine glands are controlled and energized by some of the major chakras. The endocrine glands can be stimulated or inhibited by controlling or manipulating the major chakras. A lot of ailments are caused partially by the malfunctioning of the chakras.

3. Some chakras are sites or centers of psychic faculties. Activation of certain chakras may result in the development of certain psychic faculties. For example, among the easiest and safest chakras to activate are the hand minor chakras. These are located at the center of
the palms. By activating these chakras, one develops the ability to feel subtle energies and the ability to feel and sense different parts
of the aura.

Revenge of the gods!!

I was tired of reading about the attacks on women and children in the newspaper. One day while doing nothing suddenly I started having flashes in my head. I imagined a meeting of gods. All the gods sitting at a round table wearing their white robes and shiny white hair. They were distraught with the plight of earth. Unhappy about what humans are doing to earth they decide to call it a day in the human beings chapter. The architect of the “Humans” project says “I designed them to be intelligent so that they could work towards welfare of all the other species, nurture them and help others grow. But these selfish maggots have ruined everything. There is a hole in the atmosphere. They have dug up the earth everywhere, cut trees, caused extinction to several species. They have disturbed the circle of life. We need to pull back this product before they ruin our reputation.  We need to plan for a smooth and sure shot extinction of this species without causing any further damage to dear earth.”

A tragic nuclear world war was out of question, because it would ruin everything that god created on earth. The technical lead amongst the gods came up with a plan. “Let’s destroy their sense of self-preservation”. They will ruin their own species that way. Other gods were confused. How is that even possible? That’s the basic survival instinct we have inculcated all the living beings with. The technical lead says, “Exactly, we will make them not want to preserve their own species. Let them choose not to have offspring”. This Idea worked like a charm. Most of the wealthy humans in developed nations stopped wanting to have children. They began to despise the abstinence and responsibilities that are required to raise a child. For them there ambitions took priority over starting a family.

The plan worked in one half of the world. However failed in the other half where people were unassuming and not very ambitious. They were poor yet lived happily with their families. They were the ones who reproduced at the highest rates. This could possibly be because they were happy people. “What do we do?” thought the gods. They arranged an emergency meeting and discussed about this superior race which did extremely well with limited resource. These people seemed to worship their creators – not the gods but the women who were their creator, nurturers and gave them a reason to strive better. Probably this was one of the reasons these people did so well. The gods were almost jealous of women in this part of the world. They seemed to be the main hurdle in achieving “human extinction”. The shrewdest of god rose and said I have a plan but to execute it we need great grit and determination. Our objective is to wipe out humanity from earth and we might have to turn a blind eye to evil that this plan would unleash. This was like an Abilene’s paradox and none of the gods dared speak a word.

Mundan woes of a overly attached mother!

I recently got my two and half year old child's mundan done. After all the hullabaloo I still do not understand what was the big fuss about? why did I put my child through the tormenting experience. She did not cry a bit when her hair was being chopped or when the barber picked up the blade to scrape out her hair. She clenched her fist, looked at the ground and trusted her family. I kept repeating the words "you are the most beautiful baby" and she believed me. She cried out of discomfort due to a few red spot for some time and still continued for the pooja. My baby trusted us that it cant be that bad after all. She was happy that we are going to have a party and she got gifts for the mundan, especially her pink scooter. Just as we were getting ready for the party, she looked at the mirror and she was shocked. Her tears rolled down her cheeks and her voice was trembling she came near me and whispered. "mumma dont take of my hat, I want to wear it for the party".
For the first time I felt I did not have the solution to my child's problem and it felt miserable. I had a sinking feeling to see my princess so distressed and lacking the extraordinary confidence that she usually exudes. After I got her dressed up we clicked pictures as usual and she came running to check the pic but was very disappointed to see herself. Some how I kept her involved in something or the other to keep her distracted. But in the end at night at bed time I told her lets have a quick shower, something we do every night. She at first refused. I was surprised because she usually jumps at shower time. After lot of coaxing I realized that she did not want to take off her hat. I looked in her eyes and said that "its just two of us here, no one's looking". She still did not budge, I felt aghast to find out that she was shy, even in front of me!! I told her "baby I loved you even when I had not seen you, so please stop bothering yourself". She looked at me in disbelief of the new revelation. Then I promised her that I wont look at her just wash her. She agreed to that and took off her hat, still with reluctance. When we went for her shower I kept my promise and did not look up at her face. She touched my shoulders and said "mumma muje dekho please". I gave her a big tight hug. Cursed myself for not being strong enough to stop the useless agonizing ceremony. Later I told to myself that I am going to take it as an opportunity to teach my daughter that beauty is not just about the way you look. Also that we need to break free form the conventional stereotypes of beauty.

My toddler can't wait to get her hair back. Sometimes she puts my hair on her head and looking herself in the mirror exclaims that she got her hair back. The next moment she is annoyed with me and says that I should also get a mundan. Every morning the first thing she does is check how much her hair grew. She feels bad for the slightest raised voice or even a mild nudge. I try to cheer her up when she is low by kissing her bald head saying once you get your hair back how will I kiss, she finds it very funny. She calls herself ugly at times and I scold her saying "don't you dare call my baby ugly" and she runs away giggling. I don't know what else I can or should do to comfort her. My child is a sensitive one and pretty as a pristine princess, but this mundan has made her really sad. I want my chirpy bubbly baby back. I just do not know how and when will that happen.

Income tax - Responsibility or Duty ?

Income tax is that part of our earning which we share with our country for over all development. Above certain limits the government has made it compulsory to pay income tax. These funds are used to build roads, bridges, trains and even to pay salaried to our minister in the government and for functioning of parliament. Hence it is a very important contribution from our end.

Sometimes we feel how does it matter if I don’t pay taxes others are still paying. But if everyone begins to think in that way the state would have no funds for itself. Besides it’s a crime and might result in heavy penalties.
However if people of the nation have a general resentment against the government that they are not doing any good and the development is not at par with the expectations then the question arises who is eating up all the funds meant for developments of the society? What is government doing with the heavy taxes levied on common man? Why should we shoulder this burden? In my opinion the solution is not to stop paying taxes. Rather we need to exercise deliberation in choosing the right government. After all we live in a democratic society.

We all have bills to pay, including our nation. Our nation takes unimaginable amount of loan from the world bank to accomplish various development plans for the society. The least we can do is to pay our due from the income which our county has enabled us to earn.

My opinion on lottery tickets

Lottery tickets in a way are very similar to gamble with may be fewer stakes. When several people spend money to buy the tickets a few of them get paid with the same money. Lottery tickets have a general effect of a miracle. All of us love miracles. Especially in despair we dream of some miracle that would pull us out of our woes. The lottery business basically thrives on this mindset of people.

In tough times like these when the entire world is going through a financial crunch many people who were financially sound previously are left with hardly any money to make their ends meet. The loans are piling up and harassment from the money collectors are pushing them to edges. When there is no other hope left people want to try out their luck with the lottery. I remember a friend of mine who had recently took a house loan and bought a flat and got laid off at work due to down-sizing of the company. It was hard for him to find a job immediately since there aren’t enough jobs in the market these days. The installments had to be paid he had no money and a family of four to feed. He started buying lottery tickets because it made him feel that there was some hope of recovery. If he won a lottery most likely his financial condition would improve a great deal and he will get enough time to put his best efforts in finding a new job.

However some people are addicted to buying lottery tickets. For them wining the money is not as important as the excitement of the gamble. Such people need counseling so stop wasting their hard earned money since the probability of winning a lottery would be one in million. It has even been banned in some states in India to curb the menace.

It would be better to be self-reliant and make concrete efforts to solve own problems than pray for a supernatural divine intervention. Since god helps only those who help themselves.

Role of youth in changing the society for good

The involvement of youth is a crucial in shaping up of the society. They are the future of the society. Several young people  are aware of the problems faced by the society at the grass root level as they are part of it on a day to day basis. They are energetic and full of bright idea. A little guidance and encouragement can help they pursue these ideas with great enthusiasm.

In our society we have witnessed young men and women with great idea turn into successful entrepreneurs and later turn into social entrepreneurs as they are willing to bring about positive change in the society. These are very influential people. When they take initiative on any of the prevalent social issues it has a gallant impact on the system and the people in general. The society looks upon them as role models and will to follow their foot step.

We have seen examples of Bill Gates, Narayan Murthy and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw. Bill Gates AIDS foundation is known to everyone. Narayan Murthy and Kiran Mazumdar have contributed to the local development and diabetics’ respectively. These people have achieved what they wanted to and now want to give it back to the society. More than anything they strive to have a lasting impact and contribute to the change they would wish to see in the society.

The society has great expectations from the young politicians like Barack Obama and David Cameron. In spite of having great ideas lack of experience can make is difficult to for see applicability of these ideas. Having guidance from an experience person can benefit in planning overall sustainable development of the society.
In the end any society is only as strong as its weakest section. So its very important for all of us to be the change we need instead of waiting for someone to bring about change.

Branded commodities on the developing economies

Branding is the key in today’s economy. It is no longer just about the product you produce but how you present the entire package is very essential for economic success. There is a need to establish relations with the customer base.  Branding means different things to different people. It is something like the feel good factor of any commodity.

A Strong brand can protect a business against competitive attacks, Market fluctuations and price wars more so in the times of economic uncertainties.  Branding also involves customer relationship management.

There are various types of customer. They can be classified typically into groups. Group A Customers are the ones which make frivolous purchases and invest a lot of money. They are probably just 1 percent of the entire customer base.  Group B customers are those who don’t buy as often as Group A customers but are slow and steady buyers. Group C are those who haven’t really made any purchase but are probably more of friends. They are important customers because they can anytime convert to Block B or A customer. Group D customer are the ones who may bring about minimal gains but consume considerable amount of time. Even though they are least productive type of customers not all of them can be got rid of. Some of them have potential of moving up the block and becoming group B customers. They could also end up being customers of a competitor brand if not taken care of. Group E are the ex- customer. Their feedback is very important improving and betterment of the product, services etc.

For a planning a promotion for branding first of all the target audience must be identified. After a through brainstorming the creative idea needs to be conceptualized and executed with extreme deliberation. The branding can be done across various media like print, press, TV, hoardings etc. The intention should be to catch the audience attention and propagate information about the product.
